NEW CLASSICS | October 9th
A new work development and creative community-building program celebrating trans and gender diverse artists and allies in Magandjin.
New Classics is a Backbone x theatrePUNK co-program celebrating trans and gender diverse voices in theatre and performance. Taking over the city for four weeks, it combines a writer-in-residence development program with scratch nights, workshops and playreadings, built to fill the gap in queer programming in Magandjin. Highlights include playreadings of Tiger Skin by Fen Carter, a tender work about old fears and unfinished friendships, and A Case Study in Bottoming by Cullyn Beckton, a slutty, campy queer comedy set in Brisbane. The program also features an open-mic poetry night and a Trans Scratch Night in collaboration with Melt Festival, growing community networks for trans and gender-diverse talent across Queensland.
Presented by theatrePUNK co.
