Nestled in the parklands of Seven Hills, Backbone offers relaxed, flexible, free-form spaces to test your ideas and take them to the next level.

Backbone has three spaces that can be hired separately, each with multipurpose functionality that can accommodate workshops, rehearsals, photoshoots, filming, classes, meetings, presentations, and more.

With a wide range of furniture, projectors, and sound and lighting equipment available for use, Backbone has what you need to make your ideas come to life at Seven Hills Hub.

Backbone does not manage the Ron Hurley Theatre or the Outdoor Amphitheater at the Seven Hills Hub. If you would like to hire these spaces, head to the Brisbane City Council website.

New Online Booking System - Meeting Hub

To provide a simpler and more streamlined experience, Backbone has moved to Meeting Hub — our new online booking platform where you can check availability, submit and manage your bookings, and make secure payments all in one place.

Here’s how to get started:

  1. Fill out the New User Registration Form – this gives us your details and any discount documentation (e.g. community, NFP, or under 30).

  2. Create your Meeting Hub account – click the SEND A BOOKING ENQUIRY button below to set it up.

  3. Wait for staff approval – Backbone staff will link your account, add any applicable discounts, and approve your first booking. Approvals are generally processed promptly, but please allow up to 3–5 business days during office hours.

  4. Book and pay upfront – once approved, you’ll be able to manage all future bookings directly through Meeting Hub.

Please note:

  • Existing bookings made before this change will remain valid but won’t appear in your Meeting Hub account portal.

  • Bookings are tentative until approved by Backbone staff.

  • Discounts are available for community groups, not-for-profits, and young artists under 30 once you submit the required documentation via our New User Registration Form. The Backbone team will need to manually add discounts to your Meeting Hub account once it has been created.

Rehearsal Room

The Rehearsal Room features wall to floor mirrors and sprungboard flooring, making it perfect for dance, rehearsals, workshops, classes and creation.

FEATURES
Sprungboard flooring (approx. 6.7m X 7m), air conditioning, flexible furniture options, PA system, WiFi Access.

CAPACITY
Capacity limit: 30 people

Workshop Space

This bright, light filled space is perfect for larger groups. Ideal for meetings, workshops, presentations, creation and more.

FEATURES
Tiled flooring, ceiling fans, natural light, flexible furniture options, concertina doors that can be opened to the Seven Hills Hub courtyard, PA can be made available for this space. WiFi Access.

The Studio

The Studio is a private, carpeted room with all of your AV and sound needs conveniently built in.

FAQ’s

  • We’re moving all bookings to Meeting Hub to make the process clearer and easier for everyone. While we encourage you to use the portal for all bookings, we’re here to support you if you need help getting started.

    For recurring bookings (e.g. the same time each day or week for a set period), feel free to email us directly - we can set these up quickly for you on our end.

  • Yes, you’ll need to create a Meeting Hub account to make new bookings. Don’t worry - any bookings you made before won’t appear in the system, but they remain valid and are blocked out in the calendar so no one else can book over them.

  • Please fill out the New User Registration Form as best you can, providing as much information as possible about your organisation and how you intend to use the venue. If you’re unsure or need help clarifying which pricing tier applies to you, feel free to email quinn@backbone.org.au - we’re happy to assist!

  • Upfront payment is preferred, but if you're an organisation with a previous invoicing arrangement, get in touch and we’ll confirm what's possible.

  • We’ll still handle inductions (now via email or video), and you can make a note when booking if you need any tech, access support or other extras. If you experience any issues with the system, just email Quinn@backbone.org.au - the human support is still here!

  • We understand how important security and data privacy are to our community. Meeting Hub is designed with strong protections in place for both personal and payment information, adhering to Australian standards and global best practices.

    Here’s what you can expect:

    Secure Payment Gateway: Meeting Hub uses Stripe, a trusted and widely used platform, to handle all credit card payments. Your financial data is encrypted and never stored on Backbone or Meeting Hub servers.

    Multiple Payment Options: Credit card payments are securely processed, and you can set a default payment method within your account.

    Currency Support: Stripe allows Meeting Hub to support over 120 currencies — useful for visiting or international creatives.

    Data Security & System Reliability

    Australian-Based Data Centres: All user data is stored in secure, locally hosted data centres, ensuring compliance with Australian privacy laws.

    SOC 2 Type 2 Certification: Meeting Hub adheres to this internationally recognised standard for managing customer data securely.
