Announcing Backbone's Pilot Artists in Residence!
We are thrilled to announce Backbone’s Pilot Artists in residence!
Backbone received an overwhelming number of applications to the inaugural Pilot program, each one invigorating and inspiring. This shows the vital need for programs with spaces for young artists to experiment and develop their practice.
We are proud to provide this space for three young, fearless artists as a part of Pilot. We warmly welcome Dakota Hannington, Micah Rustichelli and Martelle Simon-Green to the Backbone team! These three artists will be employed part-time to make the first development of their new work come to life. They will each receive producing training to take into the independent practice, and they will receive support from award winning performance maker, Chelsea McGuffin, as their dedicated Artist mentor.
We’re so excited to present their projects at Backbone Festival 24 October - 14 November at Seven Hills Hub
Keep your eyes on this space as we share more about these wonderful young creatives on their Pilot journey.
Pilot is supported by the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland.
