Today it has been announced that Sarah Stafford and her creative team have snagged two Matilda Award Nominations; The Judge’s Award, acknowledging outstanding theatrical endeavours, and Best Video Award, acknowledging exceptional video design.

Again, You Have Trusted Me ‘created a really truly Australian gothic horror, half homage to Australian family connections and half a sharp drop into the truly dark side of suburbia.’ (Nadia Jade, Nothing Ever Happens in Brisbane)

We couldn’t be happier to see a production that we have supported since infancy receive this acknowledgement. It speaks to the dedication, curiosity, and ingenuity of the whole team; Sarah Stafford, Blake Howson (video design), Alex Hines (director), and Stephen Quinn (stage design).

Congratulations to the 2022 nominees, you can find them all here.

And a HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to every young, independent artist who presented work in 2022. You are the Backbone of our industry, and we’re here to support you, platform your voices, and share your vital stories.

Love,
Backbone
