Dear Adults…
A thought-provoking work about the musings of the next generation, performed by youth for adults.
Virag Dombay
10 November - 11 November
Presented in partnership with Fringe Brisbane.
Have you ever felt like you had something to say but no one would listen?
Have you ever felt silenced by an adult?
Dear Adults... is a work created and performed by children aged 6-18 that emerged from Virag and her co-playwright Harry Fritsch’s engagement with youth in their community. It is a play in which youth express their ideas and thoughts about the world around them, expressing opinions which have often been silenced. At the end of the performance, the audience members are facilitated to write a letter to an adult/child in their lives which they can leave in our 'Dear Adults...' mailbox or give it to the person directly.
The first iteration of 'Dear Adults... debuted at the Anywhere Festival with a sold-out season this year to much critical acclaim including critics deeming a 'thought-provoking show about the questions and concerns about the next generation' and 'a show I yearned for when I was younger'.
